...an ode to the once-we-loved ones

Don't worry, I am not here to spice up whatever tangy feeling you're having 😂😂 Yo! Yo! Just kidding 😉😂.

But before we continue, Happy Valentine's Day 🤭😘. You deserve the world and everything beautiful in-between, the interesting part? You'd get everything beautiful that you deserve.

While we celebrate, let's reminisce. Think back on the loved ones we've lost, the loved ones we couldn't keep, the loved ones who didn't deserve us and the loved ones that never happened.

Beyond wanting love and living in love, there were the times when love wasn't on our side, the times love felt like a heavy burden we had to bear, the times love felt distant and the times love wasn't forthcoming. Through all these periods and eras, we stand tall, eager to celebrate again and again and again.

And that's what makes us human. The ability to live life to the fullest is what I believe we should celebrate because only the one who has embraced life can embrace love. Not watering down the fire in our hearts because of past failures, not locking ourselves away because of undeserving lovers. That's what love is, taking ten steps forward, two backwards and not moving at all. Learning, unlearning and relearning. Heartbreak, whole heartedness, and half heartedness…all die na die.

Being vulnerable and pouring honesty into the present platter is what makes you capable of loving. So don't let the once-we-loved ones be your undoing. Don't let the ones you couldn't keep define what happens in the future. Don't let the ones you lost hold you back from living and don't let the ones who didn't deserve you make you feel unwanted.
